Nothing Has Inherent Existence

"Buddhism refers to this phenomenon as emptiness, the fact that nothing has inherent existence, things, people, beings, thoughts, life itself. Everything is a development, an evolution, a next step. There is no thing or being in isolation. No thing or being exists in itself, in herself, in himself, apart from everything else. There is profound solace in this fact. The garden teaches this by being this."
